Becky Bereswill has seen “Frozen” dozens of times and thrills to reenact Queen Elsa building her ice palace during the signature song “Let It Go.”

She knows lots of young fans count on it.

Bereswill, 24, portrays Elsa in “Disney On Ice Presents ‘Frozen,’ ” an adaptation of the Oscar-winning animated film at the Amalie Arena tonight through Sunday. A possible scheduling conflict with the NHL playoffs was averted when the New York Rangers won on Wednesday, meaning all “Frozen” performances will happen as scheduled.

With special effects representing Elsa’s magical powers — including snow — the arena at 401 Channelside Drive transforms into the Norwegian-inspired kingdom of Arendelle.

Elsa and her sister, Anna; mountain man Kristoff and his troll friends; Prince Hans; and the comical snowman Olaf take to the ice with elaborate costumes and the athletic wizardry of axel jumps, camel spins and more.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Bereswill, a Houston native who learned to sake when she was about 9, for a preview of the show in today’s Tampa Tribune.  “I love the transformation that Elsa goes through, her self-discovery. She’s a pretty cool character,” she said. “I grew up with an identical twin sister, so I relate to that bond.”
